The Moscow Exchange to have successfully implemented SPECTRA trading and clearing platform

The Moscow Exchange has completed the implementation of SPECTRA, the Group's new platform for trading and clearing on the Derivatives Market and in the Standard market sector.  The platform is based on a unique architecture that has potential to be developed much further. The technical characteristics of the new architecture correspond to those of the world famous equivalents. The strengths of the new platform are high performance, modular architecture, universal bus for high-speed data transfer, and the built-in risk-management system. The performance of SPECTRA's initial configuration is up to 30,000 transactions per second, with system response time less than 1ms.

SPECTRA has become the Exchange's most important technological project of 2012. Implementation of SPECTRA required the joint effort of numerous expert programmers that succeeded in completing the challenging task.  The change of the trading and clearing platform architecture resulted in emerging opportunity to develop new interesting products and unique services that the Moscow Exchange would be happy to offer to its Market Participants in the nearest future.

"The Exchange's implementation of the new platform for trading and clearing on the Derivatives Market and in the Standard Market sector followed the improvements in the Securities and FX Market that had taken place in 2011. It was very important for us to evaluate the quality of SPECTRA functions not only in providing trading on the markets on a day-to-day basis, but also on the contracts" settlement days.  Now we can confirm that the project is completed successfully. On behalf of the Moscow Exchange I would like to express my gratitude to the employees that took part in creating and testing the platform, from IT-developers to IT experts of broker companies, - says Alexander Afanasiev, Chairman of the Managing Board.  – Reliability, high performance and functionality of a trading and clearing platform is currently one of the significant competitive advantages”.
